Exercising your betta fish

Exercising betta fish involves flaring, which is the act of the gills opening and fins widening to appear larger coupled with dominating movements which may look like the betta is dancing.

Ideally, betta fish should be exercised daily for about 15 to 20 minutes each time.
There are a number of ways to do this, two of which are;
1. Having another better fish as a flaring partner.
2. Have their tanks next to each other and normally have the view of each other separated by a piece of paper or cardboard. Once a day, uncarved them for 15 to 20 minutes letting them see each other and flare at each other.
3. Two with a mirror. Get a mirror and put it up against the tank for your better fish to see their own reflection. This should make them flare thinking that it is another better fish and do this for the same required 15 to 20 minutes.
4. Exercising your betta fish Will aid in digestion and keep your betta fish healthy and alert
